Kasaragod: In a collision between a lorry and a car near Periyaram in Kannur, the driver of the lorry died and two others were seriously injured on Saturday, September 3.
The deceased lorry driver is Nagarjuna, aged 48, resident of Kundapur. Lorry cleaner Munna alias Rathnakar Suvarna (37) and a medical college student Joseph Kurian(28) who were injured in the accident were later admitted to the hospital.

The fish laden lorry was moving towards Kannur when the accident occurred. The lorry hit a roadside tree and the car tumbled into a trench after the accident took place on the National Highway near Periyaram medical college.

Due to the impact, the roadside tree was uprooted while the drive got struck underneath the lorry. Traffic was held on the highway for hours due to the accident.
