Mangaluru: In the latest development, Karnataka government has appointed Dr P S Harsha as the Commissioner of Police, Mangaluru and Arunangshu Giri as the Deputy Commissioner of Police, on Monday, August 5.
Along with the two IPS officers, the government has issued a fresh order, transferring a total of 10 IPS officers. Earlier, the government had replaced Sandeep Patil with Dr Subrahmanyeshwara Rao as the Commissioner of Police for Mangaluru. But, Rao had not taken charge so far. As the government has issued a fresh order on Monday, Dr P S Harsha would assume charge as the Commissioner of Police and Arunangshu Giri would take charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order)
It can be noted that Dr Harsha P S had served as ASP of Puttur sub-division and he was the commissioner of information and publicity department in 2017-18.
