Mangaluru: Contrary to reports that Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar being miffed with the Chief Minister for giving him the charge of Chikkamagaluru district against his will, Parameshwar on Saturday January 15, said that he will discharge his duties efficiently.

It is said that though the Home Minister wanted to be the In-Charge Minister of either home district Tumakuru or Bengaluru Rural, CM Siddaramaiah yesterday made it official that Dr Parameshwar will henceforth be the District In-Charge Minister of Chikkamagaluru.

“The ultimate power of appointing a District In-Charge Minister lies in the hands of the Chief Minister. Chikkamagaluru is not a new place to me. I will efficiently discharge the new duties assigned to me. I will also face the upcoming Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat polls,” he said adding all is well between him and the CM.

Dr Parameshwar said that stringent action will be taken against communal goons who disrupt peace in the society.
