
Mangaluru: “ Instead of questioning the loopholes prevailing in the implementation of women right, reservation for women among others, women should find solutions for such problems themselves,” said popular television anchor Sukanya on Sunday.
She was speaking at a session on “Women and Journalism”, organised during the second day of 35th state conference of journalists at Kudmul Rangha Rao Town Hall.
Sukanya said, “If a woman would keep on questioning the loopholes in the implementation of women right, reservation for women among others, she can never succeed. Women should find solutions for such problems themselves and try to emerge as the winner, breaking all barriers in their life.”
Senior journalist Sridevi Kalasada said, “ women can achieve success in journalism if they are passionate about writing and show love and dedication to this profession.”
Mangaluru Akashavani programme director Ushalatha Sarapady said that there should not be discrimination on the lines of gender in opportunity.
Meanwhile, other senior women journalists like Keerthi Shekhar, Savitha Shivakumar and Megha Eligar spoke on the occasion.
Senior journalist S Rashmi delivered the introductory speech. Journalists Dhanya Balekaje welcomed the gathering and Sathyavathi proposed the vote of thanks. Priya Harish compered the programme.
