DK to launch mobile app to track illegal cattle transportation on Aug 7

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district will launch a mobile app ‘LLC’ (Livestock Logistics Control), which will be launched on August 7. The app aims to track illegal transportation of cattle.

Speaking to media on Tuesday, August 6, Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner S Sasikanth Senthil said people also can provide information to the officials through mobile app, if they have any information about illegal cattle transportation. People can download the app from playstore from next Thursday, he informed.

Meanwhile, he warned of taking strict action against those who illegally transporting cattle and those who are taking law into their hands in the pretext of preventing illegal transportation of cattle. He said if anybody notices illegal cattle transportation or illegal slaughterhouses in the district, they can bring it to the notice of officials. The officials concerned would take action against the culprits. People can call toll free number of district control room 1077 or call police control room number 100.

Senthil also informed that GPS tracking system will be introduced soon.

Dakshina Kannada district Superintendent of Police B M Lakshmi Prasad informed that five patrolling teams have been formed already to prevent illegal cattle transportation in the district. Two teams have been functioning in Bantwal taluk and one each have been working in Beltangady, Puttur and Sullia taluk, he informed.

Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Mohammed Nazir was present.
