DK to get 21 permanent Aadhaar enrolment centres

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district, which stands in the ninth position as far as Aadhaar enrolment is concerned, would get 21 permanent Aadhaar enrolment centres to speed up the process. So far, the district has achieved 76 percent enrolment.

Speaking after opening a workshop on Aadhaar enrolment organized for the district-level officers, here in the city, Deputy Commissioner A.B Ibrahim said that the centres would be located in 17 hobli headquarters and four Mangaluru One centers.

The workshop aimed to educate officials involved in the enrolment and clarifying their doubts. One of the officials said that the Tumkur tops the list with 94.73 percent in enrolment.

He said the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) was planning to set up permanent centres in the municipalities. These centres would be one stop solution for fresh enrolment, checking Aadhaar status, getting e-Aadhaar, Aadhaar seeding and authentication service.
