DK reports jump of 307 COVID cases; Six more dead

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district registered 307 fresh cases and six COVID-19 deaths, on Friday, August 14.

Of the six dead, four are from the Mangaluru taluk, one is from Moodbidri, and two are from other districts. Comorbidities were found in four of the six deaths.

The total COVID positive cases stand at 8,378 while 2,007 are active cases.

The district’s total COVID fatality stands at 256.

A whopping 242 patients were discharged on Friday, from various hospitals.

Among the 307 new cases, 197 are from Mangaluru, 57 are from Bantwal, 14 are from Puttur, 17 are from Sullia, 14 are from Belthangady, and eight are from other districts, the district health bulletin informed.
