Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district registered 414 new cases and six COVID-19 deaths, on Wednesday, September 2.
Of the six dead, four are from the Mangaluru taluk, one is from Belthangady and one is from another district. Comorbidities were found in all of the cases.
The total COVID positive cases stand at 13,479 while 2,600 are active cases.
The district’s total COVID fatality stands at 381.
As many as 346 patients were discharged. Of these, 271 were quarantined at home, 46 were being treated in the hospital, and 29 were from Covid care centres.
Among the 414 new cases, 222 are from Mangaluru alone, 64 are from Bantwal, 49 are from Puttur, 31 are from Sullia, 28 are from Belthangady and 20 are from other districts, the district health bulletin informed.
As many as 196 of the new cases are symptomatic (123 men and 73 women) while the remaining 218 are asymptomatic (108 men and 110 women).
Of the 414 cases, 77 persons have contact history, 174 have influenza-like illnesses, 11 are SARI patients, 150 are under investigation, and two have a history of domestic travel.
