DK reports 352 new COVID cases; Seven dead, 363 discharged

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district registered 352 new cases and seven COVID-19 deaths, on Tuesday, September 1.

Of the seven dead, four are from the Mangaluru taluk, two is from Puttur, and one is from other districts. Comorbidities were found in all of the cases.

The total COVID positive cases stand at 13,065 while 2,538 are active cases.

The district’s total COVID fatality stands at 368.

As many as 363 patients were discharged. Of these, 294 were quarantined at home and 59 were being treated in the hospital.

Among the 352 new cases, 165 are from Mangaluru alone, 87 are from 17 42 SARI 24 are from Puttur, 19 are from Sullia, 25 are from Belthangady and 14 are from other districts, the district health bulletin informed.

As many as 172 of the new cases are symptomatic (112 men and 60 women) while the remaining 180 are asymptomatic (104 men and 76 women).

Of the 352 cases, 51 persons have contact history, 136 have influenza-like illnesses, 17 are SARI patients, and 148 are under investigation.
