Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district registered 246 fresh cases and six COVID-19 deaths, on Thursday, August 12.

Of the six dead, three are from the Mangaluru taluk, one is from Bantwal, and two are from other districts. Comorbidities were found in all six cases.

The total COVID positive cases stand at 8,071 while 1,948 are active cases.

The district’s total COVID fatality stands at 244.

A whopping 641 patients were discharged on Thursday, from various hospitals.

Among the 246 new cases, 150 are from Mangaluru, 47 are from Bantwal, 16 are from Puttur, seven are from Sullia, 15 are from Belthangady, and 11 are from other districts, the district health bulletin informed.
