Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Rajyotsava Award recipient, cine actor, limericks writer and humorist Shekhar Bhandary succumbed to COVID-19 on Monday, August 10.

He was admitted to a private hospital in the city a few days ago after he had a cough, one of the symptoms of COVID-19.

A native of Karkala, Bhandary was a theatre artist by passion and was a retired bank employee. He was born to Babu Bhandary and Abhaya Bhandary.
