Mangaluru: Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath on Tuesday, April 14, rejoiced at the fact that the Dakshina Kannada district has not reported a single positive COVID-19 case in the past 10 days straight.
It can be recalled that today, another COVID-19 patient was discharged from the Wenlock hospital after making a full recovery. This brings the total number of active cases down from 12 to three.
As there have not been any new COVID-19 positive cases reported from the district due to the strict measures taken by the local administration, people have been able to breathe easy and enjoy some peace of mind during the lockdown.
However, noting that just because we seem to be safe for now, Kamath said that this doesn’t mean that we should let our guard down.
He urged the people to continue to “maintain social distancing” as it has brought the district on the right track.
