Mangaluru: Election processes having begun, the nominations by candidates in Dakshina Kannada will be accepted from February 1 – February 11 from 11 am – 3 pm.
Elections will be held in 10 Zilla Panchayats and 39 Taluk Panchayats in Dakshina Kannada. A total of 3,07,402 voters will vote in 342 polling booths across the district barring the Mangaluru City Corporation limits.
Applications to register in the polls will be accepted till January 30. As many as 39 sector officers and 3 flying squads have been appointed ensure smooth functioning of the election in addition to maintaining transparency.
IAS officer SB Bomanalli has been appointed as the observer for Dakshina Kannada polls. He will also monitor polls in Tumakuru. Mustering and de-mustering will be done at Mahatma Gandhi Centenary High School, Bondel. Training to polling officers will be given at Rosario College. The date for training is not yet fixed.

Election notification will be issued on February 1. Election will be held on February 20 and the counting will be held on February 23.
