DK district registers highest number of single day cases in K’taka

Mangaluru: According to the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 23,930. Dakshina Kannada once again registered the highest number of single-day cases with 438 new infections, while Bengaluru Urban reported 348 new cases.

On Sunday August 8, the state recorded 1,598 new coronavirus infections.

20 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Sunday, with Dakshina Kannada alone recording 6 deaths and Kolar 3.

Karnataka has seen 29,18,525 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 1.09%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 1.25%.
