Mangaluru: Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations at the district level were held at the Nehru Maidan here on Monday November 1.

S. Angara, Minister of State for Fisheries, Ports and Inland Transport Department unfurled the national flag, inspected the guard of honour, and addressed the gathering.

School children sang Kannada language and culture songs, including the State anthem.

State BJP Chief and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath and Dr. Bharath Shetty, Mayor Premananda Shetty, City Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar, and others were present for the event.

During the event, the national flag was raised upside down. When officials realised their mistake, they quickly hoisted the flag correctly.
