Mangalore: The District in-charge Minister  and State Minister for Forest and Ecology B Ramanatha Rai inaugurated the “District Level Special Olympics 2013” organized by the District Administration along with Zilla Panchayat, Youth Welfare and Sports Department, Sports and Cultural Academy for Differently Abled and Saanidhya at Mangala Stadium on Monday, December 9. Koragappa Naik, President of Zilla Panchayat hoisted the sports flag.

In his address, Rai said  “I  commend   the efforts of district administration which  has organized the sports meet for the differently abled students. It is a difficult task to organize such sports meets but it is truly appreciable that people are taking such initiatives.”

“Such extracurricular activities make these children mentally and physically strong and boost their morale,” he added.

Lilly Pais, Assistant Officer of Youth Welfare and Sports Department, Vasanth Kumar Shetty, Administrator of Saanidhya School and Mahabala Marla, President of Sports and Cultural Academy for Differently Abled were also present on the occasion.
