Mangaluru: Terming that the Dakshina Kannada district administration is gearing up to conduct and ensure free and fair assembly elections which will be held across the state soon, Assistant Deputy Commissioner Kumar on Sunday informed that the district administration as per the directive by the election commission has conducted a special brief revision of voters’ list on January 1, 2018.
“The district administration has done the draft publication of electoral rolls on November 30, 2017. In which, there are 810303 male and 833998 female voters in the district, All total there are 1644301 voters in the district. There are 22513 new voters this time.The elector population ratio of the district is about 74.41% and there are 381 service voters, ” Kumar said.
He also said the new voters who haven’t filed the application enrollment for the voters list can file the applications.
In the entire district there are 1790 poling stations. And the district administration has already completed the Basic Minimum Facility and Assured Minimum Facility check in all the polling stations. Already the EVM and VVPat machines have reached to the district administration, along with 16 Engineers from Delhi. The district administration has started the first level checking of this machines, along with the all political party representatives” he added.
