Mangaluru: Dinesh Holla, a well-known artist and environmental activist, has donated a portion of his earnings from the sale of one of his art works, towards the education of tribal children.
Holla’s art works were recently displayed at the Dieppe International Kite Festival held in France between September 8 and 16. His work depicted the culture and lifestyle of Tulunadu and nearly 30 of these were purchased during the festival. Of these earnings, 30 percent has been donated for the education of tribal children.
With the objective of making the tribal children future forest officials, he has been helping with their education in areas such as Yellapur, Dandeli, Haliyala, Kuduremukh and the Western Ghats.
