Mangaluru: The Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Department and the Karnataka Skills Development Corporation organised job fair was held at AJ Institute of Engineering and Technology College here on Thursday March 3.
Speaking after inaugurating the job fair, Minister of Higher Education Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan said that quality education and skills should be acquired simulataneously and in tandem with each other. Young people should not be helpless but strong and self-respecting. We are conducting job fair so that every youth finds an employment, he stressed.
In developed countries, tutorials are innovating a great deal in today’s times. India is the third place as far as start-ups are concerned, just behind US and China. However, a matter of pride is that Karnataka stands at fourth place as far as start-ups are concerned. The State is developing rapidly in the last ten years in terms of start-ups. If we accelerate, we will go reach heights, he said.
State BJP President and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath and Mangaluru North MLA Dr. Bharath Shetty, Coastal Development Authority Chairman Mattaru Ratnakara Hegde, Mangaluru City Corporation Mayor Premananda Shetty, Fisheries Development Corporation Chairman Nitin Kumar and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K. V. and Hemachandra from the Skills Development Department were present.
