‘Dead’ newborn found alive at burial ground

Udupi:A premature baby which was declared dead by doctors was found  to be alive when it was about to be buried by its grieving parents. The incident has been reported from Bantakal near Shirva.

A couplenbsp; who worked  in a quarry at Bantakal had arrived at a private hospital for a check up as the woman was six months pregnant. It is said the woman who began to suffer from cramps had rushed to the toilet where she reportedly delivered a premature baby.

The doctors immediately  suggested that the mother and child be shifted to Manipal hospital. It  is learnt the doctors there who examined the baby, declared that it was dead.

The parents then took the body of the baby to the burial ground where  the father  who chose to have one last glimpse of his baby removed the cloth which covered the baby’s body.To his shock, he  found that the baby was breathing.

The baby was immediately shifted to the hospital. Though the condition of the mother is fine, the baby  which weighed only  760 grams continue to be critical.
