Moodbidri : Deputy Commissioner A.B.Ibrahim visited the Alva’s College premises at Vidyagiri here on Sunday July 27 morning to oversee the arrangements being made for the army recruitment rally scheduled to be held here from August 5 to 12. The DC appreciated the arrangements.






Speaking to reporters later, the DC said this is the first such army recruitment rally being held in Moodbidri. A state level recruitment rally was earlier held in Mangalore in 2010, he said. The DC said youth aspiring to join the Army from 24 districts of the state will participate in the Moodbidri rally and added those who have a minimum educational qualification of a pass in eighth standard are eligible. The youth must be in the age group of 17 and a half years and 23 and that advertisements in this regard are already aired on Akashvani and Doordarshan. Youth from undivided DK district are also expected to participate in large numbers, the DC said.
Transparent process: Recruitment Officer of Mangalore Division Col Vishwanath said top priority would be accorded to maintaining transparency in the recruitment process. The first phase of recruitment would be registration, height test and health check up. The candidates will be given tokens and they will have to cover a certain distance in six minutes. Those selected will be qualified and on August 20 there will be a written test for candidates from 13 districts in Bangalore Division and for candidates from the remaining 13 districts in Mangalore division.
Over 11 officials and 80 staff will be part of the recruitment process, he informed.
