Mangalore: The district administration held a discussion meet on road safety at the headquarters here on Monday June 24.

Deputy Commissioner N Prakash addressing the officers of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) who were responsible for recent gas tragedy in Perne, near Uppinangady, Putur taluk, in which 8 people perished, in order to employ 2 drivers in a LPG tanker and to introduce mobile patrol to respond in case of emergency.

The Regional Transport Officers, safety officers of state-run oil majors and peoples representatives were present at the occasion.
