Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district administration has fixed rates for tankers that supply water in Mangaluru City Corporation limits. The price of water supplied by a 6,000 litre capacity water tanker is Rs 1,000; 9,000 litre capacity water tanker is Rs 1,300 and that of 12,000 capacity water tanker Rs 1,500.

Ibrahim said people may lodge a complaint with the MCC authorities in case water supplying agency charges more than the above mentioned rates along with the vehicle registration number of the tanker.

Meanwhile, the Mangalore City Corporation has established helplines for general public as the inflow into water reservoirs supplying water to Mangaluru city has drastically come down.
