Mangaluru: The sorry plight of Dayakara Bangera of Maroli, whose house was flattened due to heavy rain, was somewhat ameliorated, when locals and MLA, Mangaluru South J R Lobo reached out to shoulder the burden of reconstruction.

Dayakara Bangera, a few years back had his legs amputated due to health related problems. It is learnt that he was only supported by his wife as he does not have children. Recently during the Monsoon season he lost his house. The house succumbed to heavy rains. However his poor financial condition, made him helpless in the face of this calamity and he was left with no other option but to approach government.
The MLA J R Lobo on behalf of the government promised to provide him funds to reconstruct the house. Besides, the MLA urged locals to join hands to help Bangera. In pursuance of his promise, Lobo, on Tuesday, April 7 handed over cash of Rs. 70,000 to Bangera at his house. Locals too came forward and donated necessary materials for the reconstruction of the house.
