Mangaluru: In total, nine candidates are in the fray for the Lok Sabha election in Dakshina Kannada district, election for which will be held on April 26. Monday was the last day for the withdrawal of the nomination.
On the last day, independent candidate Satish Bodumakki withdrew his nomination, leaving a total of nine candidates in the fray.
Congress party’s Padmaraj R Poojary, BJP’s Captain Brijesh Chowtha, Karunad Sevakar Party’s Durga Prasad, BSP’s Kantappa Alangar, Uttam Prajakiya Party’s Manohar, Karnataak Rashtra Samiti’s Ranjani M, and independent candidates Deepak Kuvello, Mexim Pinto, and Suprit Kumar Poojary Kateel are in the fray, as stated by Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner M.P. Mullai Muhilan in a press release.
