Mangalore: The sleuths of Customs department at the Mangalore International Airport on Thursday night seized an Air India passenger from Dubai, who was smuggling gold worth Rs 5.5 lakh.

According to the press release, the valuables weighing 204.000 grams are estimated to be worth Rs 5.5 lakhs. The police arrested Safraz Powwal Mohhammed Kunni (30) of Kasargod.

It’s stated that the smuggler had hidden gold in his waist belt, measuring tape, buckles of the bag and comb.
