Mangaluru: The officers of the Customs of Mangaluru International Airport seized gold in the form of foil strips totally weighing over 570 grams, valued over Rs 15 lakhs.

According to the press note issues by the commissioner of customs, the gold was concealed in the inncer top cover of two trolley suitcases, carried by the passenger named Muhammed Shamseer P.A, resident of Kasargod. He arrived at the airport in the morning of February 4 by Jet Airways flight from Dubai.
The operation was conducted under the superivision of Udayashankaran N., assistant commissioner of customs. further investigation is being carried out, under the guidance of D. Purushotham, commissioner, the release stated.
