Curtains down on Alvas Virasat 2015

Moodbidri: Curtains came down on the four-day cultural show of Alvas Virasat 2015 Moodbidri here on Sunday. Thousands of people witnessed the cultural festival.

Alvas varna virasat 2015 national award was given to eminent artist Tota Vaikuntha here on Sunday at Vidyagiri palace ground.

Subrahmanya Vidyaprasanna Teertha Swamiji, Moodbidri Jain mutt Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Pandithacharyavarya Swamy, Mangalore commissioner Murugan, Ka.sa.pa district president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, NITTE VV vicechancellor  Prof Ramananda Shetty, Mumbai Bunt sangh president Vishwanatha Shetty, Alvas president Dr M Mohan Alva were present. Rithesh compered the programme.

The Varna virasat 2015, national painting camp which was held for 10 days also concluded on Sunday.  Giridhar Khasnis, the chief guest speech said that an artist should have humanity in them.

Certificates were distributed to those Adivasi and contemporary participants. B N Desai from Hassan one of the participant expressed his views about the camp on the occasion. Gujarat adivasi artist Tejuben sang folk song on the occasion.

Dr M Mohan Alva presided over the programme. Varna virasat committee member Koty Prasad Alva, Ganesh Somayaji were present. Sharvary compered the programme.

The Fateh-amar band from Punjab connected well with the large gathering for four days.

Fateh Fauju pipe band Punjab welcomed the guests everyday. Band leader Balbeer singh expressed his opinion about the the cultural festival. He said that this is our second performance in Moodbidri. In this cultural festival each and everyone whether it be poor or rich, can enjoy the culural fest. Even the president Dr M Mohan Alva is a freindly person and we would like to perform again if we get a chance, he said.
