On the occasion of Crime Prevention month Department of Criminology, School of Social Work, in collaboration with Mangaluru City Police and Biker Saviours Bengaluru organised a rally for a cause on 17th December 2020 at 11.00 a.m.
The rally was flagged out by Vikash Kumar, IPS, Commissioner Of Police, Mangaluru City along with Hariram Shankar, IPS, DCP (Law & Order) and Vinay A. Gaonkar. KSPS DCP (Crime & Traffic), M A Natara,j ACP – Traffic Sub-Division; M Jagdish- ACP Central Sub-Division; Ranjit Kumar Bandaru IPS-ACP – South Sub-Division; K U Belliappa-ACP – North Sub-Division.
The rally commenced from Clock tower, Hampankatta and concluded at the same point. The event was held to bring in awareness about Drug Abuse among the youth.
Police trainees, representatives of Biker Saviours Bengaluru and Students of School of Social Work were part of this Awareness Rally. There were 350 participants in this event. Students and police personnel were marching along with placards bearing slogans creating awareness among the general public about drug abuse.
