Crime against women : Silent protest march by Dhavala students

Moodbidri :Students of Dhavala College of Moodbidri took out a silent protest march from the college to the Tahsildar’s office to condemn the rising cases of sexual crimes and atrocities on women.

Addressing the agitators, Sandhya Kumari  said there has been a spurt in crime against women due to the failure of the government to initiate stringent action against the culprits in such cases.

Another student Vishrutha  said the atrocities and sexual crimes against women must be condemned in the strongest possible words by everyone in the society. “Women instead of remaining silent to atrocities, should  fight it out,” she said.

Alwyn Johnson D’Souza, President of the College Students’ Council, Clavin Pinto, Vice President, Sujith, Secretary, Vishruth, Joint Secretary and others were present.

The students submitted a memorandum to the Governor through the Tahsildar of Moodbidri.
