Mangaluru:  Covid-19 patients are forced to seek care in Dakshina Kannada due to a lack of beds in Bengaluru. The number of such patients is increasing, according to the district’s Health and Family welfare department.

“We don’t refuse to support the Covid patients. However, a large number of patients from other areas would certainly fill up the facilities here,” said deputy commissioner KV Rajendra.

A spokesperson added that, “Patients from Bengaluru, Pune, and Delhi were treated at KS Hegde Hospital in Derlakatte. An elderly Bengaluru couple also received treatment a few days ago. Some of the patients have been discharged.”
