Mangaluru: As the state government has ordered that malls and film theatres be shut down temporarily owing to the coronavirus scare, the release date of the much-awaited Tulu movie “English” has been postponed.
The director of the movie Sooraj Shetty told reporters here on Tuesday, March 17, that it was inevitable for the team to postpone the release of the movie. “We had decided to release the movie on March 18. However, we planned to postpone the date as it would badly impact the success of the movie. We have a lot of hope riding on the movie and we are not ready to lose our faith,” he said and added that the next release date would be announced soon.
Actor Naveen D Padeel informed that the premiere show of the movie was held in Dubai and that it received a good response from the audience. “Owing to the outbreak of the coronavirus, we are forced to postpone the release. It is everyone’s responsibility to adhere to the directions of the government,” Padeel added.
Actor Vismay Vinayak, producer Harish Sherigar’s brothers Prakash Sherigar and Srinivas Sherigar were present.
