
Mangaluru: A total of five people tested positive for COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district today, June 14.
With these five active cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Dakshina Kannada district reached 276. Among the five persons who tested positive for the disease, three had come from Dubai and two others had come from Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, a total of 11 persons discharged from COVID Wenlock Hospital today. With this, the total number of discharged persons after recovery from COVID hospital reached 157 now.
As a 25-year-old Mumbai returnee, a resident of Acharijora in Kuppepadavu village, who tested positive for COVID-19 succumbed today, the total number of deaths owing to the disease reached eight in Dakshina Kannada district.
This person had come from Mumbai on May 27. After completing the quarantine period, he returned to his house located at Acharijora in Kuppepadavu. As he had visited many areas in his locality, the locals in their areas are in fear. Measures were already taken to seal down his house now.
