COVID-19 claims one more life in DK; Death tally rises to nine in district

Mangaluru: A 70-year-old elderly person, who was infected with COVID-19 succumbed on Tuesday, June 23.

With this death, the total number of deaths in Dakshina Kannada district due to COVID-19 has reached nine.

According to highly placed sources, this elderly person (P-6282) had come from Bengaluru on June 7.

As he has been diagnosed with Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) he was admitted to COVID Wenlock Hospital on June 12.

He was also suffering from pneumonia and diabetes and was receiving treatment in ICU.

However, he did not respond to the treatment and died on Tuesday, sources informed.
