Mangaluru: The locals caught hold of a couple, belonging to different communities, ‘behaving indecently’ at the Ullal beach here on Tuesday.

The couple identified as Ubaidulla (19), a resident of Kudroli and his female classmates from Moodshedde, Vamanjoor, were taken to the Ullala police station by the locals ‘after finding them behaving in an obscene manner at the Mogaveerpatna, Ullala.

According to the reports, the locals claimed that the girl and the boy were publicly acting indecent. When warned for their action, the locals found that the duo belonged to different communities. Subsequently, the police were informed about it, the reports further added.

The couple, both students of Matha Tutorials, had come to the beach on a two wheeler.

Meanwhile,  Johara (41), mother of Ubaidulla died of heart attack, learning her son was arrested by police.

A case has been booked in the Ullala police station.
