Bantwal: A country bomb planted by hunters to hunt down wild animals exploded killing domestic cow at Chellangaru of Karopadi village in Bantwal on Tuesday.
The four-year-old cow belonging to Radhakrishna Mulya used to go to the nearby forest to graze. Every evening it used to return home after grazing, but on Tuesday when the cow did not turn up at home, worried Mulya family members went in search of the cow. Appi, Radhakrishna Mulya’s mother found the cow standing in the forest with mutilated face and severe injuries on the neck.
Though the cow was brought home and all efforts were made to treat the injuries, it succumbed to the wounds that it sustained due to the blast.
Arrangements have been made to send the samples for a forensic test.
Vittal police have registered a case.
