Mangaluru: While the debate about whether or not to open schools soon continues amid the novel coronavirus scare, a private school in Kanyadi of the Belthangady taluk has decided to stay shut for an entire year.

Kanyadi Shri Athmananda Saraswathi English Medium School, located near Dharmastala, has a total of 350 students from LKG to Class 10. Of these, 250 students are below the age of 12 years.

It is said that this important decision was taken only after taking into consideration the parents’ opinions.

Meanwhile, the school has announced that if any parent wants to take a Transfer Certificate (TC) and admit their child in other schools, they are free to do so.

The school has already informed the education minister and department of education in this regard.

Brahmananda Saraswathi Swamiji, the president of this institution has informed that the decision was taken to safeguard the health of the students.
