Corona scare: Passenger from Dubai with fever shifted to Wenlock from MIA

Mangaluru: A person who had come to Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) from Dubai was taken to the District Wenlock Hospital after he was found to have severe fever and other symptoms of COVID-19, on Sunday, March 8.

According to the sources, after the routine check-up, health officials found some symptoms of corona virus in him and sent him to isolation ward of Wenlock Hospital.

District Health Officer Dr Sikandar Pasha informed that the patient would be kept under observation for the next 24 hours. If the patient is tested negative for COVID- 19, he will be discharged.

District surveillance officer Dr Naveen Kulal said that though the patient is suffering from fever, there are very little chances of him having contaccted the corona virus infection.

“However, we have kept him in isolation ward as a precautionary measure,” he informed.

Over 30,000 people have underwent check-up at MIA in the last 15 days. Among them, six people, who had severe fever were discharged from the hospital after they were tested negative for COVID-19.
