Mangalore: The ‘Beary language day’ celebration was organised by the Karnataka Beary sahitya academy here on October 3, at the academy premises.
Janab B A Mohammad president of Academy presided over the function. Janab B M Haneef sub-editor of ‘Sudha’ weekly, inaugurated the programme by beating the Daph which is prominent feature of Beary culture.

Mangalore University Principal Sathyanarayana Mallipattna, speaking on the occasion, said that Lipi does not have much prominence than the language. Beary language has contributed a lot to the field of literature and culture, he said.
Prominent writer Mohammad Baddor, Badriya collge principal Dr N Ismail and Al-Badriya institutions president Haji B M Mohammad were the chief guests in the programme.
Abdul Aziz Baikampady, Ibrahim Tannirbavi, B A Shamshuddin Madikeri, Rahim BC Road, Ismail Moodushedde, Hamza Malar and Mohammad Shareef who contributed and achieved success in Beary language were felicitated on the occasion by the Academy.
Academy registrar Umarabba rendered welcome speech. Academy member and convenor Janab Hameed Padubidri achored the programme. Academy member Abbas Kirugonda conveyed vote of thanks.
Many writers and well known people were present on the occasion.
