Bantwal : Traders of Kalladka have alleged that the police who ought to have protected the public, have created a sense of fear by lathi charging the public and forcing the shopkeepers to down their shutters.

Speaking to reporters at BC Road on Friday, April 11, businessman Chandrashekhar Tailor and photographer Jayaram Rai condemned the behavior of the police. They said they have suffered losses and that if such situation continues in Kalladka any further, then it will be difficult for them to carry out their business.
They also suspected a political ploy behind the incident and requested the authorities to ensure peace in the town.
“The police who state that prohibitory orders under Section 144 have been imposed in the town, at the same time have been biased by offering protection to Muslims who were heading towards the Kalladka mosque in groups,”they alleged.
Narayana Somayaji, Shivaram Holla, Pushpa Parkala, Darbe Srinivas Naik, Dombayya Tailor, Lokesh, Umesh, Jyothi, Suchitra Prabhu and others were present.
