Container lorry hits KSRTC bus, one critical

Puttur: As many as 14 persons sustained injuries after a container lorry hit a KSRTC bus here on Thursday, June 30. The lorry driver is said to be critical.

The mishap occured on Thursday morning after the container lorry heading from Bengaluru to Mangaluru hit the government bus arriving from opposite direction near Neerakatte.

In the mishap bus driver Narayana Swamy(53), passengers Kiran Kumar(23), Basavaraj from Hassan, Pushpavathi(48) from Sakleshpur, her daughter Latha(28), Chakravarthy(40), police constable Jayaram from Tumakuru, Abdul Hameed, Mohammed Kabir, Maimuna, Abdul Rahiman, Mohammed Jaleel from Tumakuru, Basavaraju and Suraj from Mangaluru sustained injuries in the mishap. They are undergoing treatment at Puttur city and Pragathi hospital.

Suresh (32) lorry driver hailing from Tipatur is said to be critical and have been rushed to Mangaluru hospital.
