Mangaluru: The promises made in the Congress party’s manifesto will divide the country as it assures to scrap the sedition law if voted to power, said Team Modi head Chakravarthy Sulibele.

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, April 11, Sulibele said, “Congress promised that it would amend the act that grants special powers to the Indian Armed Forces in ‘insurgency-hit’ areas if it is voted to power and that it would scrap the law on sedition from the statute. If so, the miscreants who shout slogans in favour of Pakistan would not be punished and they are allowed to do so. It is a dangerous decision that would lead to dividing the nation”, he said.

“Though Congress has assured of eradicating poverty and economic inequality by planning to introduce NYAY scheme, it is not practical. As per the plan, an eligible family would be entitled to get Rs 72,000 per annum. This is nothing but luring the people in order to get the votes and practically, it is impossible”, he opined.

Regarding Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement, ‘A vote for Modi is a vote for Pakistan’, Sulibele said, “A month ago, Imran Khan had stated that Modi is against peace talk with Pakistan. His latest statement completely contradicts his previous statement. It seems that Imran has given the latest statement just to support the Congress party which is already using the issue for vote bank”, he said.

‘Local issues not important, country’s security first’

Sulibele asked the public to vote for those candidate who support the re-election of Narendra Modi as the prime minister of the country. “During the Lok Sabha election, country’s security issues come first and local issues play no important role. In order to support Modi, people should vote for BJP”, he said.
