Mangaluru: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel on Friday, May 8, alleged that the Congress party indirectly supported the migrant labourers’ protest that was witnessed at the Central Railway Station in the morning, to tarnish the image of the BJP government and get political mileage.

It can be noted that hundreds of migrant labourers from North India had gathered at the Central Railway Station assuming that the district administration had made arrangements for them to travel back to their native villages. However, no such arrangements were made today, leading them to stage a protest.

Pointing out to this incident, Nalin made the allegation that the Congress conspired to put a “black mark” on the administration led by the BJP.

“The state government has wisely handled the Covid-19 crisis, which is why the Congress leaders are attacking the government. In order to malign the district administration, the Congress leaders made the migrant labourers stage a protest at the railway station. During the protest, there was neither social distancing nor masks. If the virus spreads in the district, the Congress party should be held responsible,” he said.
