Mangalore: A larger number of congress leaders and the supporters had organized a vijayotsava  rally here  at Nehru maidan  on Tuesday. This rally was organised to celebrate the historical victory of J R Lobo in the recently held legislative assembly elections with the support of all the congress leaders.

The  rally  began at  Nehru  maiden and passed through jyothi circle-nanthur-bikarnakatta, and concluded at Kulshekar church ground.

“We  will work  together for the  progress of the district as there are four  newly elected ministers in dakshina kannada. For  every  developmental works people need  to  support us”,said the newly elected  MLA J.R Lobo.

More  than 500 supporters participated in  the  rally. Tiger dance, Yakshagana and other folk arts  were the center of attraction in the procession.

Congress leaders,such as  Ivan DSouza, Praveenchandra Alva, Kallige Taranatha shetty , T K Sudhir, Shashiraj Ambettu, Denis DSilva and many other prominent leaders were also present.
