Mangaluru: Launching a scathing attack, senior Congress leader Janardhana Poojary said today that the Congress government is not following the promises they had printed in the election manifesto.
Addressing mediapersons at Dakshina Kannada Congress office, he said the Congress had said in their manifesto that it will eradicate corruption from the system, but now they themselves are recommending one of the corrupt officers as the Chairman of KPSC.
“Sham Bhat’s reports have been streaming on media since so many days. Even after knowing that he doesn’t have a clean image, his name is being recommended to the governor. Out of six crore people of Karnataka, the CM couldn’t find a single person who is not corrupt,” he said.
“CM Siddaramaiah should recall his words spoken during the Bellary rally. People trusted your words and chose you as their leader, but now you have forgotten your own words. The CM should voluntarily withdraw Bhat’s name to save the name of Congress party,” he added.
Commenting on Bajrang Dal’s weapon training camp, he said that even after they organised those anti-communal events in Ayodhya, PM Modi is silent about it. He hasn’t spoken a single word against this incident.
Commenting on the protest of police personnel in Karnataka he said that the CM should have a look at the life of a police constable. After being in service for ten long years, a constable gets a salary of Rs 18000. In Telangana, it is nearly Rs 35000.
“Constables are leading a life full of tears. They are also humans,” he said.
Speaking on the construction of a retaining wall to Yettinahole he said that, instead of constructing a retaining wall, a dam should have been constructed so that excess water would be diverted towards Netravati.
“The CM is thinking that the people of Dakshina Kannada are fools, but we are not. We know that you are going finish the green and serene surroundings of the Coastal region,” he said adding that the CM should allow the re-argument of Yettinahole case.
Former mayor Mahabala Marla, former mayor Ajith Kumar, INTUC Treasurer Nirajpal and others were present.
