Mangaluru: Leader of Opposition in the legislative council, Kota Srinivas Poojary alleged that when the whole country is concerned about the safety of the nation and is praising the bravery of our soldiers after the airstrike of Indian Air Force (IAF), Congress and its leaders are sympathising upon terrorists.

Speaking to the reporters at Circuit House on Monday, March 4, he said that Congress leaders and Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy have been insisting to produce evidence for the airstrike.

“Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) has already admitted that the Indian Air Force (IAF) carried out airstrikes in Balakot, which claimed the lives of hundreds of terrorists. This is enough evidence to be considered. However, some leaders of both Congress and JD(S) suspect whether the airstrike really took place. Questioning the airstrike is as good as sedition and those who question need to hold their tongue”, said Srinivas.

Srinvas Poojary also asked state government to cooperate with the union government in implementing the scheme of ‘Pradhan Mantri Krishi Samman Yojana’. “Though farmers are keen on applying for the scheme, the procedure on receiving the application is very slow. Immediate measures should be taken to ease the farmers to apply for Krishi Samman Yojana”, he said.

Suspecting irregularities in setting up of pure drinking water units in various districts of the state, Srinivas Poojary said “Though the state government has decided to set up 16,000 pure drinking water units in the state, it has not been implemented so far. Though we demanded to constitute a House Committee to probe it, the government is not ready to do so. Hence, BJP itself would form a committee to probe the irregularities and file a report on the same in the next session.
