Sullia: In a gruesome incident, a Congress leader was hacked to death by miscreants in broad daylight in Sullia on Friday afternoon.
The deceased is Ismail Nelyamajalu (52), the Congress Minority Wing President (Karavali Valaya).

It is said that Ismail was about to reach his car after completing his Friday prayers at a mosque at Irvanadu when miscreants attacked him with machetes, killing him on the spot.

Two years ago, Ismail and his wife Waheeda Ismail, who was the President of Bellare GP were attacked by miscreants. However, this is said to be the sequel to the previous attack. The reason for attack is said to be personal and there is no communal angle linked to his death.
