Mangalore : “A woman’s love and passion towards her country and her patriotic spirit is greater than that of a warrior on the battle field,” said former MP Tejaswini Ramesh who recently joined BJP.

She was addressing the BJP “Mahila Morcha”, women’s convention on Saturday March 29 at Subrahmanya Sadan.

She further said, “A mother teaches her children ethics, love, sacrifice, commitment and devotion towards the country. She sends her husband to protect our country on the battle field. The passion she nurtures for the country and the sacrifices she makes are incomparable.”

Under the present Congress rule, the cases of atrocities on women are increasing day-by-day.”The constitution has reserved only 33% of seats for women, Why is  this so?” she questioned.

She also alleged that other parties are misusing reservation and are also denying opportunities for women. ”If we want to get our rights we women should think of electing the right candidate. We contest to empower and encourage women, we contest to win,” she said.

“Hindutava is known to unite people and has always advocated secularism, but we never uplift religion over country. The Indian history proclaims that Hindus have stayed together even during the  Mughal era. It is only under the  Congress rule after the end of the British regime that India got divided,” Tejaswini Ramesh said.

“ Hinduism does not preach communalism and we believe in the constitution of this country and the Uniform Civil code,” she further clarified.

She also said that BJP has declared an able leader – Modi as Prime Ministerial candidate. “The country needs an able and decisive leadership and Modi fits the bill. The majority of Indians have accepted Modi as their future Prime Minister. We common people have dreams and Congress party has destroyed our dreams. We want to lead our life peacefully and Modi is the only person who can think of the development of the country,” she claimed.

During the convention Nina Malli, Shalini Amin and Hemalata joined the BJP party as members in the presence of leaders Yogish Bhat, Ravishanker Mijar, Sulochana G K Bhat, Roopa D Bangera and others.
