Mangaluru: The inauguration of the Planetarium at Pilikula turned out to be a venue for two sitting Congress MLAs to wash their dirty linen in public. As per eye witnesses a fight broke out between Mulky Moodabidri MLA Abhayachandra Jain and Mangalore North MLA Moideen Bava where the two hurled abuses and even resorting to violently pushing each other off.

The chaotic episode happened before the inauguration over the topic of mayor Kavita Sanil aspiring for a ticket for the upcoming polls.

It is said that Moideen Bava was in conversation with a minister about Mayor Sanil. Bava said that Sanil’s tenure as mayor comes to an end soon and that she was aspiring to get a ticket from the Mulky Moodabidri constituency.

Raged by the fact that Bava mentioned the name of his constituency, Jain is said to have lost his cool and started hurling abuses at Bava. The episode ended with Bava’s supporters taking him away.

This is not the first time that Jain got into a fight in public. He had earlier got into a brawl with MLC Ivan D’Souza during the CM’s visit to Mangaluru couple of months ago.

It is said that Jain had once casually said that he wanted to give away the constituency to a youth Congress candidate. Since then, there has been a rat race to get a ticket for the constituency.
