Newskarnataka – Mangalore
Mangalore: The process of registering voters for the internal election to choose the Congress candidate for Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha seat has created a lot of chaos among the members.
Several party workers heading the block-level, ward-level and booth-level party units said that they had been serving the party for 20 to 30 years but were ignored. The failure to accommodate them in the process would have an adverse impact at a time when the party is facing a major challenge in the Lok Sabha elections, the disgruntled party men warned and expressing discontentment with the criteria for voter registration.
All India Congress Committee observer Pramod Kumar who has arrived in Mangalore for the internal election said that the voters were being registered based on the 19 criteria already announced and there was no scope for any deviation from them.
